*greedy the animation industry has become. Despite this, i'm going to see this several times, as I enjoy causing myself and those around me pain. A word of caution to those who intend on seeing this movie: your time would be better spent watching paint dry or grass grow. It would be more interesting than this abomination.

Oh god, don't get me started on this movie. I saw it with a group of two other friends, and each one of us had to leave the theatre at one point for a breather. Maybe it's entertaining for very young children who don't know any better, but if you're anything above the age of 6, mentally or age-wise, this movie will provide you nothing but physical pain and the regret you'd feel after a one-night-stand with (thing). Throughout the movie, my head was either in my hands, or hitting the back of the seat as I painfully astral projected to cope with the sheer torment of the 'jokes' this movie made, or the feminism they unskillfully crammed in (which I'll touch on in a moment). The only joke I got a chuckle out of was the emoticon one, but otherwise the humor was lacking and embarrassing at best. As for the feminism in the story, it tries to shoehorn in a few comments ("why do MEN always get credited for women's ideas?!") which end up feeling very out of place and borderline uncomfortable. Spoilers, but at the end of the movie, the protagonist confesses to our 'powerful female lead', and is turned down by her as she has pursuits that she doesn't want to throw away just for a relationship. This would be fine, if it weren't for the fact that this causes the protagonist to 'lose his emotions', truely becoming a Meh Emoji and getting captured. The female lead then has to abandon her goal, which was just within her reach, to rescue the protagonist. After this, she seemingly no longer has any goals, instead returning to the texting app to stay with our protagonist. This was so poorly executed, it made me visibly angry. They were trying to get across the idea of being independent, but what they ended up doing was pushing the idea that one should always accept proposals and abandon our ideals to not hurt the feelings of another. At least the animation was nice. This movie is a terrifying revelation to all how gr

Best animated movie of the year, and educational too, especially for those kids starting school who still have much to learn about their cellphones.
